Break Time widget for Windows

A notification is easy to swipe away. A guy sprinting across your monitor is not. Break Time keeps a schedule: every 30 minutes, every hour, or at the times you choose, inside the hours you work and only on weekdays if you like. When it is time, one of four clips plays full-screen on a transparent layer above everything you have open, on the monitor your mouse is on or on all of them. He climbs down, walks through, gives you a thumbs up, and the layer closes itself. Your clicks still go where you aimed them the whole time.

What it’s for

What Break Time is good for

The everyday jobs this widget was built to handle.

Get up every half hour without a nag you can dismiss by reflex

Set fixed breaks at 10:30, 13:00 and 15:30 around a meeting-heavy day

Put the reminder on every monitor so it lands wherever you are looking

The clock lives in the app, not the widget, so a break comes even when the dashboard is tucked in the tray or showing another screen, and a restart picks the schedule back up. Break now, Skip and Pause are on the tile, along with a count of the breaks you actually took today. The clips are chroma-keyed VP9 with a real alpha channel, which is why there is no green box and no rectangle, just the character.
