Start the week on the day your country actually starts it, turn on week numbers if you work in them, and mark birthdays and reminders directly on the grid so the calendar reflects the rest of your dashboard. The year view fits all twelve months into the tile: kept small the days are dots with your events tinted, given room they become real day numbers, and clicking any month steps into it.
