Day / Night Map widget for Windows
The classic sunlight map, drawn locally from the same solar model the Sunrise & Sunset widget uses, so it needs no API and updates every minute as the terminator sweeps west. The sun sits at the sub-solar point, the night side is shaded to a darkness you control, and a thin line marks the terminator itself. Add markers by city name (sixty of the world's major cities are built in) or as a latitude and longitude for anywhere else; each dot turns orange in daylight and purple at night, and hovering shows the local solar time. Pair it with the Time Zones widget and you can see why the Tokyo office has not answered yet.
