Library widget for Windows
A bookshelf for the books already on your drive. Add a folder and the widget finds every EPUB, PDF, CBZ and audiobook in it, pulls the cover and the title, author and series out of each file (page one for a PDF, the album art for an audiobook) and lines them up. New files appear on their own. Search by title, author or series, switch between books, comics and audiobooks, file books by folder or tag, or build smart shelves that fill themselves, like Unread or Audiobooks under 5 hours. Click a book to open it in your usual reader. Click an audiobook and it plays right in the widget: chapters, speed, skip, a sleep timer, media keys, and it remembers your spot.

Nothing is copied, moved or uploaded: the widget reads your folders and keeps small cover thumbnails beside its own settings. Finding missing covers online is off until you turn it on, and then only the titles of books without a cover go to Open Library, Google Books and Apple. Your statuses, tags, progress and shelves are part of the normal backup.
