Photos widget for Windows
A pinboard for the pictures you keep going back to: the kids, the boat, the whiteboard from that meeting, the reference shot for the thing you are building. Paste an image from your clipboard, drop one from a browser or Explorer, or pick files from disk, and it lands in a grid of thumbnails. Click one for a viewer with arrows, a caption, copy and reveal in Explorer. Drag a thumbnail back out and it is a real file again, into an email, an upload field or a folder.
Free · Windows 10 and 11 · No account required
The real Photos widget, running live. Drag it around.
What Photos is good for
The everyday jobs this widget was built to handle.
Keep a photo of the family, the dog or the boat on the dashboard where you glance all day
Park screenshots and reference images for the thing you are working on this week
Drag a saved photo straight into a Slack message or an upload form without hunting for the file
Originals are kept as files on your machine with a small thumbnail beside each, so a tile full of full-resolution photos stays quick and nothing goes near a cloud. Deleting is one click backed by ten seconds of Undo, because a confirm dialog on a pinboard is friction and a timed double-click looks broken.
Every Photos setting
4 options, set per widget - so two copies of Photos on the same dashboard can behave completely differently. Highlighted values are the defaults.
